Yom Kippur

One of the most beautiful and profound traditions I have ever heard of is Yom Kippur.  A Jewish high holy day, and one that my father even practice (he was not the most strct of observers), Yom Kippur is the day of atonment.  On this day, we ask for forgiveness and we pray for those that we have wronged, as well as for those all the world that has been wronged or commited and caused pain.  I say we here although I am not Jewish, but coming from a family that is Jewish on my father's side, because it seems to me that we all have caused pain, intentionally or not, and it is a good idea to recognize this, ask to be forgiven and then strive to be a better person.  That is what I am doing this day.

A friend of mine, Trudy, posted a similar post on Facebook, and I felt the need to also post my following message:

And so with Yom Kippur in mind and with deep sorry for anyone I have wronged (intentionally or not), I ask for forgiveness & will strive to be kinder and better in my life and to others.

Thanks
