The Apprentice: Martha Stewart
“I’m sorry, you don’t fit in.” This is Martha Stewart’s “you’re fired” phrase. Oh lord, what a phrase! It actually bothers me. At least with original “Apprentice,” the phrase “you’re fired” is honest and to the point without any Psychological repercussions. But “I’m sorry, you don’t fit in” is absolutely cruel! It throws you back to childhood and clicks and not fitting in. Or with society as a whole: “I’m sorry, you don’t fit in,” so we are just going to leave you behind! Lord, The implications of that phrase!
I can’t help but wonder, did someone say that to Martha when she was in jail?
